My Father Would Be Proud

We have a water filter at the kitchen sink. The kind with its own faucet. I was filling a glass of water, and as I reached for the handle to turn it off, I stuck the spigot down my sleeve.

I thought of you immediately, Dad.

Oh. I still laugh when I think about the incident that Sally obscurely refers to here. You see, Sally's dad was installing a water filter at our house. Nice of him, right? Right.

Well, he got to the point where he was ready to turn the water on. He, well, turned the water on and waited for a moment. After that moment, one of the water lines from the filter popped off and bgan spraying water about under the sink. He was, well, filling the opening so I couldn't really do anything. Well, I couldn't do anything until I discovered that the water line was now spraying water directly down his sleeve. Then I could do something... and that something was to laugh. And laugh and laugh and laugh. I'm pretty sure his shirt was filling up with water. I laughed some more.

He did finally get the water shut off. I think I stopped laughing long enough to find some towels. It's a function of how much he cares for his daughter (and me, I suppose) that he actually finished the installation.
